Because everyone has a Reason to be Aware!
Our business started out with Hand Crafted Jewelry back in 2006 under the name Sparkle by Sammie. Shortly after that we became very involved with Awareness Jewelry and felt very strongly about getting the word out.
We officially started our Awareness business in 2007. At first it was just designing bracelets with Ribbon Charms, but soon found the quality of ribbon charms available was not to our standards. Since then we have designed and have manufacturered directly for us Awareness Ribbons in over 52 different colors and designs!
As our line of ribbons grew, so did our product line. We now offer all kinds of items that evoke awareness, from Angels figurines to Silicone wristbands, we search for the best items available and bring them to you. We love to look for the unusual and hand crafter items made by loving hands.
In January 2009, we formally added the business name "Ribbons for a Reason" which is more in line with our company than the original Sparkle by Sammie. We still make handcrafted jewelry but most of it centers around Awareness.
It is very important to us to make sure that we give back to the community and to the causes of ribbons. We donate 20% from each item to a cause for the ribbons your purchase. You will see on your invoice when you receive your product exactly how much was donated from your order. We also list all the places we donate and how much has been donated. We think that is really important to you as customer to know where your donations are going. I know a lot of companies say they donate a "portion" of the proceeds. How much is a portion? We want you to know!
We have become huge supporters for the Lance Armstrong Foundation. A non-profit organization the not only helps in funding research, but in helping people with cancer get medical help and medications that they need. We firmly stand behind them and you will see us talk about them on here and what we are doing to help.
