The difference between Jump Rings & Split Rings
Jump rings are single rings that attach charms quickly to something. They are made to be opened and closed one time using a pair of simple pliers. While holding the ring between 2 fingers, you use the pliers to twist the ring to one side opening the ring. Once the ring is open a small amount, take the bail of your charm and place it on the ring. Take your pliers and bring the ring back to the starting position. These rings are easy to use, but can get easily snagged on clothing or other items and pull loose. Jump Ring should never be stretched open by pulling back on them. They should only be twisted side to side. Any charms ordered with jump rings, will have the jump rings separate from the charms with instruction on how to use them.
Split Rings are best described as miniature key rings. They are a double ring where the end of the charm is slid between the two pieces and twisted around until it is totally enclosed on the ring. Charm orders under 50 pieces will have the split ring attached to them when they ship, unless otherwise requested. If you are ordering more then 50 pieces and want the split ring attached, please expect additional shipping time on your order as this can be a time consuming task. Please put a note in the comments section requesting your order have the split rings attached.
